Slovenia is a true small paradise for freeride skiers. Julian Alps, which are located in the eastern part of European Alps, are with their numerous peaks, excellent for serious freeride paths. Freeride areas, like Vogel above Bohinj Lake and Kanin above Bovec, Sella Nevea on the Italian side of the Julian Alps, as well as some of the Karawanken peaks, are very popular with skiers. There are hospitable mountain huts, excellent hotel infrastructure in the valleys and some „apre-ski“ life as well. Slovenia is during snowy winter an excellent polygon for freeride skiers.
