& other wild friends

The paths are not too demanding, they usually ascend and descend slightly, with a small daily altitude difference in ascent, which means the terrain is moderately varied.

Trekking on well-marked and easier mountain trails

There are not many things that are more suitable for the development of children and the happiness of the family, such as hiking trails, exploring the mountains and experiencing the natural beauties. The mountains offer extraordinary views, soothe and regulate children’s energy, thus connecting families even more firmly into a happy unit. The mountains are a getaway from everyday worries, they are beautiful, the most sparkling children’s “playground”. Exploring the mountains, high mountain pastures, crystal clear lakes, streams, experiencing mountain huts, meeting other hikers … all this is a useful school for life.

Whilst canyoning was definitely the stand-out adrenalin rush, the walking in the mountains has left us determined to go back to the area for more. Slovenia, and in particular the Julian Alps around Bled and Bohinj, is utterly beautiful and the people are warm and welcoming (Life Adventures arranged for us to stay in Pr’Povsin – a wonderful small pension/hotel on a local farm, with amazing home-cooked food). I can’t recommend the Life Adventures experience highly enough.

Life Adventures are a really great outfit. From first enquiries until last goodbyes, we couldn’t have been happier with our family adventure week. Our contact in the office, was the most helpful holiday rep that I’ve ever come across – nothing was too much trouble – and she was really friendly and kind throughout. This turned out to be the case with all Life Adventure employees as each expert guide took us off on our activities, coaching us firmly in all aspects of safety, encouraging us to do things that might have felt more challenging than we were comfortable with, and sharing excellent local insight into wildlife, geography and folklore.

Would I feel comfortable taking a 5 year old rock climbing and white water rafting? No. Would I feel comfortable doing it with Life Adventures? YES!
