Three-headed Giant

Triglav, with its 2864m, is Slovenia’s highest mountain and represents for Slovenian people
an eternal symbol of national consciousness.

Ascending the highest mountain in the Julian Alps in 1 day

Triglav is considered as one of the mighty mountains with marvelous views. On a clear and sunny day, one can see far across the Julian Alps, all the way to Grossglockner on the northwest and to the Adriatic Sea on the south. The climb is physically demanding, but the reward you will receive in the form of views, is so much worth the effort. It is a mountain, which has to be taken seriously due to its height and steepness at the very top.

Note
  • The hike is considered a challenging activity with a demanding climb to the summit of the mountain. It demands a high level of endurance and can be challenging for those, who are not used to longer hikes. The climb to the summit of Mt. Triglav is via ferrata (Italian for “iron way”), which is an extremely steep climb on steel ladders and steel wires and is not recommended for people, who are not in a good physical condition or are afraid of heights.
Important
  • Hiking boots with ankle support and good grip are essential part of equipment. Light walking shoes or sneakers are NOT appropriate. More than half of the route is on rough, rocky terrain, the summit part is a via ferrata with iron steps and ladders, and secure step is important for your well-being and safety.

All hikers must wear appropriate footwear suitable for rugged terrain. Without proper footwear, individuals are at greater risk of injury, and therefore, we cannot permit them to join the tour. Please note that in such cases, no refunds will be provided, as safety requirements were clearly communicated in advance.

An amazing couple of days hiking up Mt Triglav with Life Adventures. I signed up as a solo traveller and was well looked after from the start. The hostel is very clean and quiet and the owner Jani is super friendly. Our guide was incredible and looked after us on the whole trip. The final ascent on the ferrata is a bit scary but well worth the summit for the incredible views at the top. Thanks for a great couple of days.

The hike up Mount Triglav was a great experience and the guides on the trip were very entertaining, which made the hike that much better. I recommend that anyone who plans on going to Bled should contact Life Adventures and see what they have to offer.
